Thomas Frank at Politico received a recording of a speech Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Cameron Hamilton gave today at a private conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, in which he said the Trump administration plans to shift responsibility for disaster management to the states.

Don’t forget how the federal government distributes federal tax dollars among the states. The wealthiest states, who pay the most in taxes, are predominantly “Blue” states. The states that pay the least into the federal fisc and receive the most in federal ssistance are the states of the former Confederacy (with the exceptions of donor states Texas, Georgia and Florida). Majorities in these impoverished states have all been voting solidly for MAGA, make America the way it was before the goddamned Civil Rights movement made the coloreds so goddamned uppity and entitled! We just heard that Michael Bloomberg, the dictatorial little prick who changed the law, for himself only, a one shot deal, to become NYC mayor a third time, is giving $80,000,000 to corporate Democrats for the midterms. This generous donation is dwarfed by the $500,000,000 he spent on his own vanity campaign to win the 2020 Democratic presidential primary in American Samoa. When hitting the calculator to figure out the percentage of his fortune that is his generous $80,000,000 donation to American democracy, you need to multiply the hypothetical one billion by between 94.9 and 109.4. Meaning that his generous tax-deductible donation amounts to the smallest possible fraction of a penny to him.

This doesn’t mean our homegrown Nazis and the beneficiaries of American fascism (unfettered capitalism taken to its logical end) won’t rain violence on us all to prevent their almost inevitable electoral defeat from translating into loss of power.
