Collins called out that a protester interrupting the debate, between herself and Troy Jackson, a debate that was going very badly for her, was a Jackson supporter. Jackson, who’d been listening to her bullshit non-answers, her bobs and weaves to questions she couldn’t answer, and watching millions of dollars of dark money-funded attack ads against him, told her to shut up. The Times covers the exchange, with a focus on Jackson being… well, read it for yourself. Pay close attention to the final assertions of the story, the uncontradicted takeaway from the article. Very telling, I would say, if I were an editor for the New York Times.
Hard to believe they could have fired Bari Weiss. Oh wait, Superior Intelligence informs me I had it backwards.

Oh I see, so she left voluntarily, based on principle, because the New York Times was a bullying monster with a repressive ideological orthodoxy, that would only tolerate narrowly progressive viewpoints, now I get it. Kind of like the old CBS. Makes perfect sense, in that frame. Here are similar totally sensible, pithily stated moral positions.
Freedom of speech and of the press.
All the news that’s fit to print.
Fair and balanced.
Democracy dies in darkness.
Make America Great Again.
Manifest destiny.
The war to end war.
Iran must never have nuclear weapons.
