And I was taking careful notes:
It’s all a big diversion from Biden’s many failures, weak Biden’s many impeachable high crimes and misdemeanors including lying, unprovoked war in Ukraine, out of control inflation and skyrocketing gas prices…

This is why Bill Barr is one of the most despicable and rightfully hated of Trump’s bullying enablers. To save his skin, the most corrupt AG in American history quit right before the armed attack on the Capitol. Then stayed silent about what he knew to be a supremely destructive Big Lie (that he was instrumental in spreading). Now he poses as a voice of reason, an honest arbiter of who is detatched from reality. Here he was, authoritatively spreading disinformation for the entire year before the 2020 election, soundbite courtesy of Fox News.
Check out the mendacious partisan’s short, pure bullshit resignation letter, shortly before the planned Hail Mary violence to overturn the nonfraudulent election :

Fuck him and the whores he rode in on.
For the first few years of his term Trump used his unlimited pardon power sparingly [1], starting with his pardon of pugnacious, racist Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was found guilty of contempt of court. Nothing wrong with showing contempt, Trump reasoned, if the judge is a complete fucking asshole who won’t even let you run outdoor concentration camps for dirty brown people in the brutal heat of the desert. After he lost the election in 2020, in a landslide, Trump’s pardoning power went into overdrive. Jared wasn’t lying when he said, under oath, that he was too busy pushing pardons to pay much attention to White House counsel whining about proposed illegal actions by the president. Jared was busy! You can see the full list of Trump pardons here, including the feverish flurry at the end:
https://www.justice.gov/pardon/pardons-granted-president-donald-j-trump-2017-2021
Did you realize that Trump’s pardon wiped out a combined $51,000,000 in fines and restitution imposed on the infamous scumbag duo of Stone and Manafort? Nice going, Jared!

[1] Here’s how Trump compares to other presidents in granting pardons and clemency:
Despite a burst of pardons and commutations in his last hours in office, Donald Trump used his executive clemency power less frequently than nearly every other president since the turn of the 20th century, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of U.S. Justice Department data.
Trump granted 237 acts of clemency during his four years in the White House, including 143 pardons and 94 commutations. Only two other presidents since 1900 – George W. and George H.W. Bush – granted fewer acts of clemency than Trump.
His predecessor, Barack Obama, granted clemency 1,927 times over the course of eight years in office, the highest total of any president going back to Harry Truman. Obama’s total was skewed heavily toward commutations (1,715) instead of pardons (212).

From the great Heather Cox Richardson, quoting one of the most vocally opinionated pinheads in Congress, the honorable Louie Gohmert, on the American right to lie:
Navarro was livid at being arrested and handcuffed and put in a cell, saying that if they had just called him and said they needed him down at court, he’d have shown up. (He appeared to miss the point that the subpoena he ignored is basically a call that says, “Hey, we need you down at the court….”) He claims that authorities have violated the Constitution.
Reacting to the arrest, Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told Newsmax, “If you’re a Republican, you can’t even lie to Congress or lie to an FBI agent or they’re coming after you.” He claimed that the grand jury acquitted lawyer Michael Sussman of lying to the FBI about his contact with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign with the argument that “[o]f course you’re gonna lie. Everybody lies!” but that is, of course, not true. The jury said that the Department of Justice, which brought the suit against Sussman, did not prove its case. It is against the law to lie to Congress or to the FBI. Navarro has not been tried yet; he has simply been indicted.

Fair is fair, what person facing possible criminal jeopardy for criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting obstruction of n official proceeding, obstruction of justice, etc. would possibly speak to authorities without first having the authorities turn over every piece of evidence they intend to use against them?
So Kevin McCarthy, top Trump loyalist in the House, and always pugnacious former assistant college wrestling coach, Jim Jordan, both refused to comply with Congressional subpoenas unless the January 6th Committee first tells them exactly what evidence they have against them so they will know how to respond, consistently with each other, to questions during their involuntary testimony.
This standard precaution is particularly necessary if the authorities trying to force you to speak under oath are deadly pedophile enemies who are also totally illegitimate and therefore have no right to send subpoenas to anybody that can’t be casually tossed into the toilet with no consequences except an ostentatious flush. Fucking common sense, yo.
A few years ago, right before Covid hit and peak Trump began, I had coffee and went to a lecture with a guy I ran into who I used to be friends with many years back. He became very rich, working as a corporate lawyer, doing mergers and acquisitions. When the subject of politics came up he smiled and told me that MSNBC and CNN were just as slanted as Fox News and that if I was dispassionate and not drinking the anti-Trump Kool-Aid I’d be able to see it.
He assured me if we sat down and watched it together he could point out how many times false information was repeated on MSNBC and CNN and prove his point. I told him that Murdoch’s Fox had been a pioneer in spreading propaganda, mentioned the lawsuits in which Fox defended itself by saying nobody in their right mind would believe this shit is actually true news, it’s clearly opinion etc.
But it wasn’t much of a discussion, because he knew the secret that I was too dense to understand. I suppose that secret is that everything is relative if you’re rich enough not to care about anything but your portfolio. This bit of premature gloating by a Fox opinion host who was recently Trump’s press secretary reminded me of that short, fruitless conversation with my apolitical buddy.
Equally slanted MSNBC treatment of the same story follows.
