Lacking the fucking happiness gene in sufficient concentration on my DNA strands, I yield to the advice given by one of those with a great talent for happiness and optimism.

Today I will see the glass half-full, no matter what.

I will also cheerfully pretend that the glass is not half-full of urine, vomit and diarrhea.

There’s a kind of poetry that must be spoken aloud, I’m told. It has a beat you can dance to, and play a piano behind, and hit a woodblock against, slap three bass notes into.

Sound gives flavor,

silence has a thousand smells, only,

but none of them like the thing

with that marvelous taste.
